Here is another month of the Color Collaborative!  This month is blue. Once again, I am surprised about this color.  I had so many images to choose from, I never realized how drawn I am to this color.  And it pairs so nicely with other intense colors like red and yellow.  And of course, blue is a color of Summertime with oceans and swimming pools and blue skies.  Please follow the link below to see what the rest of the group has for the color Blue!

Wow! So much blue, so much joy, so much summer! And these all work together to make a lovely collection Heather. That last shot might be my favorite. It’s a tough call though because they are all so fantastic!ReplyCancel

Last week we got the chance to sneak away to South Padre for a week. It was a much needed change of scenery! I love shooting in new locations and the boys love the beach; love the adventures. We spent a lot of time in the sand and the sun; building sand castles, swimming and chasing sea gulls. Blessed with gorgeous Texas summer weather. We also took them on some outings to local museums, a sea turtle hospital, a pirate ship restaurant and a birding center! A busy week and so much fun!

Another month for the Color Collaborative. I am really enjoying this blog circle, focusing on specific colors is such a great photographic exercise. Really makes you look for things you normally just pass by. And each month the fellow photographers in this circle blow me away. Yellow- it really is such a happy color. I don’t think I am usually particularly drawn to it, but apparently I like it more than I thought! Enjoy this sunny color and follow the circle around to see what everyone else shot for Yellow this month!

Another month here with the Color Collaborative! As a mom of three boys and as someone who is not drawn to this particular color; I have to admit this month has been really hard! PINK!!! There is like literally NO PINK in my house.  🙂 So, I took the easy way and enjoyed shooting some flowers! So here goes! And follow the link below to see what the uber talented Nina Mingioni shot for this month.
This first shot is on Fuji Natura 1600, Canon EOS3: some grainy goodness.  The remainder were shot on the Fuji XE-2 with the 18 mm lens.

Hey everyone!  For the last couple of weeks, I have been taking a workshop from Xanthe Berkley called Day In The Life: Time Capsules Film.  It’s being offered at The Bloom Forum. I’ve been learning all about how to combine my still photography with video to make memorable videos.  I love how moving images and music combined with photos really changes the feeling of the imagery.  I have so much to learn of course!  There are tons of newbie mistakes here!  Taking video is very different than still photography.  And editing it all together is a true art form. But I really like how my first try came out!  After all, it’s a home video for my family. So, this is April 2015- Day in the Life.  Password is: aprilditl
